The amount of pollen scattered today, the 12th (Monday), is expected to be “low” from Kyushu to Tohoku. After the 14th (Wednesday), the amount of air pollution increased in Kyushu and Kanto. The pollen season is in full swing.

Take measures even if it is “little”

The amount of pollen scattered today, the 12th (Monday), is expected to be “low” from Kyushu to Tohoku. There will also be a small amount of cedar pollen flying in Tohoku.

Maximum temperatures are expected to exceed 10 degrees Celsius in many areas from Kyushu to Kanto, with some places likely to be as warm as March. In addition, there are some places on the Pacific coast where dry weather advisories have been issued, which means that pollen is more likely to fly. If you have symptoms, you will need to take precautions such as wearing a mask and glasses.

After 14 days, the amount of scattering increases.

Starting tomorrow, the 13th (Tuesday), temperatures are expected to continue to be high for this time of year. The peak of warmth will be from the 14th (Wednesday) to the 15th (Thursday), and the amount of pollen in the air will be higher than ever.

In Tokyo, the pollen count was “slightly high” on the 14th (Wednesday) and “high” on the 15th (Thursday), suggesting that the amount of pollen scattered will increase rapidly. From the 16th (Friday) onwards, there will be a few days with “slightly high” pollen in Fukuoka, and it will be the full-fledged pollen season.

Pollen peak forecast

The peak period for cedar pollen scattering will be from late February in Fukuoka, Takamatsu, and Tokyo, and from early March in Hiroshima, Osaka, Nagoya, Kanazawa, and Sendai. The peak period is expected to last from 10 days to a month.

Additionally, cypress pollen peaks in many places from late March to early April. In Sendai, the amount of cypress pollen scattered is small, and no clear peak is expected to appear.

If there is a day when the wind is strong and it suddenly becomes warm, like the first blow of spring, the amount of pollen dispersed will increase all at once, and the peak time may be brought earlier. It’s a good idea to take thorough measures against pollen even before it reaches its peak.
