The number of sunny days is “very common”
To the west of the Kanto region, there are many places where cypress pollen is at its peak.
Due to the rain, the scattering of pollen will be suppressed in many places from Kyushu to Kinki on the 8th (Monday) and from Kinki to Tohoku on the 9th (Tuesday). After the 10th (Wednesday), it will be sunny in many places, and pollen scattering is likely to reach “very high” levels from Shikoku to Tohoku. If you have hay fever, please take precautions by wearing a mask or glasses.
How long does cedar/cypress pollen last?
The peak of cypress pollen is expected to last until mid-April in long areas such as Shikoku, Tokai, and Kanto, but soon after the peak of cypress pollen has passed, full-scale dispersal of pollen will end from Kyushu to Tohoku.
Full-scale pollen dispersal, in which pollen counts of 10 or more particles per square centimeter are observed, will not begin until early April in Kyushu, and mid-April in many areas from Chugoku and Shikoku to Tohoku. Parts of the Tokai region are expected to last until late April. However, even after full-scale dispersal has finished, there will still be days when pollen will be slightly scattered in various places until around early May.
