Poll: Support for Biden is at its lowest level, and all eyes are on Trump

A newspaper poll reported Wall Street Journal “The political situation of US President Joe Biden is at its weakest point during his term,” while voters indicated that former US President Donald Trump is the “likely candidate” in the presidential confrontation that will take place in 2024.

Biden lags behind Trump by 4 points, as the support rate for Biden reached 43 percent, compared to 47 percent for Trump.

Dissatisfaction with Biden is widespread in the new poll, although many with Democratic leanings may continue to support the president on Election Day, and about 23 percent of voters say that Biden’s policies helped them personally, while 53 percent say that they were harmed by the president’s agenda, according to the poll. .

In contrast to these numbers, about half of voters say that Trump’s policies when he was president helped them personally, and more than 37 percent say they were harmed by the former president’s policies, according to the poll.

About 37 percent of those polled approve of Biden’s job performance, while 61 percent see his public image as unfavorable, while 30 percent view the “Biden economy” positively and more than half view it negatively.

The newspaper pointed out that the results of this latest poll “represent the latest shock to Biden and the Democrats,” especially since some of them publicly expressed their concern about Biden’s stamina, especially since he is over 81 years old.

Democrats view Trump (77 years old) as bent on revenge and as a “danger to democracy.”

About 87 percent of voters participating in the poll who supported Biden confirmed that they would continue to support him, while the percentage of support among voters who voted for Trump increased, and about 94 percent of them said that they would support him.

Biden recently said that he might have abandoned his re-election bid if he had not been facing former President Trump, adding that the Republican Party poses an “unparalleled threat” to the country, according to a Reuters report.

“I’m not sure I would have run if Trump hadn’t run,” Biden added during a 2024 campaign fundraising event outside Boston. “We cannot let him win,” he added.

Biden repeatedly stated during his 2020 presidential campaign that his decision to run was due in part to the way Trump, who was president at the time, dealt with various issues.

The Biden campaign is once again emphasizing that Trump represents a danger to democracy itself.

Trump, who faces criminal charges over his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss, portrayed Biden as a “dangerous autocrat.”

A former White House official said that Biden announced his bid for re-election in April, after reaching a personal belief that his deputy, Kamla Harris, and any other Democratic candidate could not defeat Trump in the general elections scheduled for next year.

Recent opinion polls showed that the most likely Republican candidate is ahead of Biden in theoretical competitions in key swing states and nationwide, according to Reuters.
