Poll shows a rift with… two parties within the ND – Karamanlis and Samaras vs. Mitsotakis –

A deep rift in New Democracy reveals a new MRB poll on OPEN. The duo of former prime ministers Costas Karamanlis and Antonis Samaras are measurably opposed to Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in terms of government policy.

At the same time, the poll records the dominance of PASOK as the second party and a rise in the popularity of Nikos Androulakis, who recently regained his leadership.

Karamanlis and Samaras

Voters applaud the attitude of Antonis Samaras and Costas Karamanlis, regarding the current government policy, with a percentage of 48.9% saying that they “definitely agree” or “probably agree”.

Conversely, 33.3% say they “probably” or “definitely” disagree.

Within New Democracy, 49.1% of voters say they “definitely” or “probably” disagree with the stance of the two former prime ministers, while 38.1% “definitely” or “probably” agree.

For the first time such a solid internal party front is recorded against Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
