A recent poll showed that approximately one in 5 Americans confirm their belief in the theory that Taylor Swift is part of a conspiracy to support President Joe Biden, as he seeks another term in office.
The poll, published by Monmouth University last Wednesday, found that 18% of Americans believe that secret government efforts made by the young American singer to help Joe Biden win the presidential elections already exist, according to the university.
In recent weeks, conspiracy theories about Swift have spread, with some conservative commentators and other prominent Republicans speculating that Swift was created by the Pentagon. Of the survey respondents who said they believed this theory, 71% sympathized with, or generally leaned toward, the Republican Party.
While Patrick Murray, director of the independent polling institute at Monmouth University, noted that many of those polled had not heard of Taylor Swift while conducting the research, but they accept the idea of the conspiracy as credible.
Conspiracy theory
Conspiracy theories regarding Swift and the 2024 election began circulating earlier this year, with a Fox News host declaring, “About 4 years ago, the Pentagon’s psychological operations unit brought up Taylor Swift as one of their targets, during a NATO meeting.”
Earlier, a New York Times report that the Biden campaign was eyeing Swift’s endorsement fueled a series of conspiracies, including one that the Super Bowl (an annual playoff game to determine the season’s champion of the National Football League) The game, which right-wing conservatives claim is part of a government conspiracy, will be rigged in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs, so that Swift can announce her support for Biden in front of millions, in a game watched by the majority of Americans.
Hours before the same game, in which the pop star was cheering on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, former President Donald Trump sent a message to Swift asking her not to endorse Biden.
Trump claimed credit for Swift’s wealth, and said, “Joe Biden did not do anything for Taylor, and he never will.” (Agencies)
Trump took credit for Swift’s wealth, calling the potential endorsement of Biden “a betrayal of the man who made her so much money,” while Trump called US President Joe Biden a “fraud” and “the worst and most corrupt president in the history of our country.”
He added in his message via the Truth Social platform, “I signed and am responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other music artists.”
He continued, “Joe Biden did not do anything for Taylor, and he never will,” referring to legislation he signed in 2018 that aims to modernize copyright laws.
Trump also expressed his love for Travis Kelce, even though he may be a liberal and probably can’t stand me, according to his description.
“Florida!!!”
The song “Florida!!!” is part of Swift’s 11th studio album, which will be released next April. The song has not yet been revealed, but Swift released the album cover, which featured the word Florida accompanied by three exclamation marks among the song titles.
Naturally, the name of the song sparked widespread controversy, as many believed that if Swift were to write a song about a state, perhaps it would have been better for her to write about Pennsylvania or Tennessee, which are the states in which she grew up, but presenting a song titled Florida means that it is part of a conspiracy. A political campaign to steal the election from Donald Trump, in the state that most supports him, according to analysts.
Longtime political observers have noted that it is very difficult for Republican presidential candidates to win enough Electoral College votes without winning Florida.
In terms of those registered to vote in the elections this year, there are 5.1 million registered Republicans, compared to 4.3 million registered Democrats in the state of Florida.
But the state also includes 3.5 million registered voters who have no party affiliation, and millions more, especially young voters, who are entitled to vote, but do not vote at all.
Nearly 1 in 4 registered voters in Florida did not cast a ballot in the last presidential election.
Does Taylor Swift support Biden?
Singer and songwriter Taylor Swift has not supported the re-election of President Joe Biden yet, but she is one of the most prominent supporters of Joe Biden in the 2020 elections. She called on her fans to vote in the ballot boxes, and expressed her regret for not participating in the presidential elections in 2016, when Trump won his first term. This prompted sources close to Donald Trump’s circle to plan a “holy war” against Swift if she announced her support for Joe Biden in the 2024 elections, going so far as to put her name on the list of enemies of Trump’s supporters.
But the American pop star’s failure to announce her position on the presidential elections did not prevent the former president’s campaign workers, Trump’s old allies in the right-wing media, and a group of his external advisors from speculating that she would support Biden as she did in the 2020 elections.
Swift had criticized Trump during the 2020 elections, accusing him of trying to “blatantly cheat and endanger the lives of millions of Americans,” following the Trump administration’s efforts to obstruct mail-in voting amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
While Jason Miller, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, tried to downplay the importance of Swift’s support for Biden, in a letter he wrote to Rolling Stone in which he said, “Joe Biden may be counting on Taylor Swift to save him, but voters look at these high inflation rates and say, ‘We will never get back together.'” “.
Taylor Swift’s terrifying popularity
A few days ago, Swift achieved an unprecedented achievement in the history of the Grammy Awards by winning the title of Album of the Year for the fourth time, and with this award that Swift received for her album “Midnights”, the 34-year-old star became the most awarded awards for her albums.
Taylor Swift is a famous American singer, known for her country pop songs, and she has an audience that loves her, some of whom call themselves “Swifters” (meaning those who belong to Swift), and her concerts witness a heavy attendance that reflects this wide audience.
During a concert she performed in the city of Seattle last July, 70,000 of her fans attended, and they were like the audience of a World Cup match, and the loud interaction, jumping and dancing, of this large number caused an earthquake equal to two degrees, point 3, on the Richter scale, during her performance of the song “Shake it off.”
