De Mos was an alderman until last year, but resigned after a raid by the National Criminal Investigation Department in his home and in his office at the town hall. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) suspects him and Rachid Guernaoui, party member and also former councilor, of official corruption. The two are said to have helped befriended entrepreneurs with permits in exchange for donations to the party. De Mos resigned as alderman and later returned as group chairman of Hart voor Den Haag / Groep de Mos.
In a response, De Mos states that “he can get a lot of energy” from the poll. “So much confidence after a difficult year for us, gives us extra motivation to keep going and fighting for all those lovely people. The inhabitants of this city are not stupid and, despite a hate campaign by political opponents and crazy, false accusations from the Public Prosecution Service, see that we are achieving a lot of good for the city. ”
