Poll for non-state HEIs: In favor overall, according to young people aged 17-29 – 2024-03-06 22:51:23

Answers to what citizens think about the bill for the establishment of non-state non-profit HEIs in Greece are given by the new opinion poll presented in the Action 24 main news bulletin.

In particular, as it becomes known through the data of the poll, the majority of respondents are in favor of the establishment of non-state universities.

Of interest are the percentages as they are formed based on the solar groups. 54.5% of young people aged 17-29 are against the bill.

The citizens of the 30-45 age group are divided, as 46.3% are in favor of their establishment while 45.9% are against. The landscape becomes clearer in the older ages, in which the majority are in favor of non-state HEIs. In fact, the 65+ age group has the largest percentage of super (62%).

Voters of ND and PaSoK are in favor

Another important finding of the poll is the percentage of respondents who favor the establishment of non-state HEIs based on which party they vote for. ND and PASoK voters are in favor with a percentage of 73.4% and 52.2% respectively. The majority of the voters of the other parties have a negative attitude.

To upgrade public universities

To the question “if you think that the operation of non-state non-profit HEIs will contribute to the upgrading of public universities”, the majority, i.e. 52.5%, answered positively.

In fact, 58.6% believe that they will have a positive impact and act as a barrier to the flight of young people abroad. 51.3% believe that Greece can become the educational center of the wider region with the establishment of non-state universities.
