Defense Minister Jorge Chávez Cresta assured this Friday that the error of the population in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) “It has been to suppose” that the home is “a safety zone” in the face of the disease when it has been going out.
“The mistake that has been made is that when entering our homes and removing our masks we think that we are in a comfort and / or safety zone, this has been a big mistake and has resulted in an increase in the mobility of the virus because the people are going to work“, He said in dialogue with Canal N.
“Due to the special characteristics of our population, the mask and social distancing must be maintained within the home as well. We have made the mistake of thinking that with the flexibility we had we could return to normality, that has been a mistake”, He added.
Chávez indicated that the new measures that are being carried out will have a high mobility to determine where there is a concentration of people. He explained that the Peruvian National Police and the Armed Forces have already identified the areas of the country where more meetings take place.
“What we are doing, firstly, to restrict this group of people from remaining, is to comply with social distancing by protecting the vulnerable population, the elderly and taking all health measures when carrying out any activity within the House“, he pointed.
