(Ouagadougou, November 21, 2023). The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE received, in audience this Tuesday, the former Prime Minister and former President of the National Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire, Guillaume Kigbafori SORO.
This figure of Ivorian politics says he sets foot on the soil of Burkina Faso with a lot of emotion because, he says, “I was five years away from the African continent, in exile”.
Guillaume SORO declared that “it is so striking to see that I can set foot, again, on the soil of Burkina Faso, thanks to a military government, where the supposedly democratically elected governments have refused to recognize the right of the citizen that I am, from the West African that I am.” This is why he addresses his words of gratitude to the people of Burkina Faso.
“I met the President of the Transition; I was impressed by his broad view of sub-regional issues,” said Mr. SORO. He adds that he benefited from the advice of the Head of State on the need to consolidate peace and reconciliation in the sub-region.
