Ph:DR: President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo taking the oath of office for a new mandate
Re-elected following the first round of the presidential elections on December 20, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo was officially inaugurated this Saturday, January 20, 2024. The inauguration took place at the Martyrs Stadium of Pentecost in Kinshasa, with a capacity of 80,000 seats, full to bursting this Saturday, January 20, 2024 according to the APO press release.

Eighteen (18) African Heads of State and around ten foreign delegations traveled to beautiful Kinshasa. The ceremony began with a brilliant entry by the new re-elected President followed by an ecumenical prayer where Pastor, Priest and Imam implored God to take care of the Democratic Congo and the new five-year term of President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.
Then, the members of the Constitutional Council made their entry followed by the reading of the act declaring re-elected Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo by 73.47%, of the votes in the first round of the quadruple ballot: presidential, legislative, provincial and local of December 20 last. Ballot having seen the participation of 26 candidates in the running.
Then, with his right hand raised, the re-elected President swore to respect and ensure respect for the Constitution which the people have sovereignly endowed themselves with. This swearing-in was followed by the presentation of the national standard to the ovations of thousands of supporters mixed with officials.
The invested President promises to be the President of all Congolese and to work tirelessly for a more united and more prosperous DRC for posterity. He also plans to transform his country into a vast construction site and create jobs for all.
In his speech, President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo also paid vibrant tribute to his political opponents who participated in the presidential elections. “The harder the fight, the sweeter the victory,” he said. He is also committed to ensuring that the mistakes of the past are no longer repeated, so that the common dream of seeing the Democratic Congo in all its splendor becomes a reality.
With this swearing in Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo thus becomes the sixth President of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
