Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Political science professor and former Kuwaiti MP, Abdullah Al-Nafisi, published a verse from Surat “Al-Imran” to send a message through it to the Kuwaiti people on the anniversary of the invasion of Kuwait by the Iraqi army during the reign of former President Saddam Hussein.
And Al-Nafisi wrote via “X” (Twitter previously): “When a calamity befell you, you have befallen twice as much, you said that this is from yourselves. Say it is from yourselves that God is capable of everything. Al Imran 165.”
One of the platform’s users asked, in a comment on the post, saying: “What do you mean by this verse?”
Al-Nafisi replied: “This verse reminds Kuwaitis of it on the occasion of Saddam’s invasion, which today (2/8) marks the 33rd anniversary.”
