The 179 Madrid municipalities have established their town councils, in 115 of which the PP will govern (with an absolute majority in 67 localities, including the capital; in a minority in 11; or through pacts in 37, in many cases with Vox), while that the PSOE retains strongholds such as Getafe, Fuenlabrada, Parla, San Fernando de Henares, Coslada or Alcorcón.
After the constitution of the mayoralties this Saturday, the map of the most relevant municipalities of the Community is the following:
– Madrid: Governs the PP with an absolute majority. Mayor, again José Luis Martínez Almeida.
– Móstoles: The PP will govern with the support of Vox, removing the PSOE supported by left-wing parties from the mayor’s office. Mayor, Manuel Bautista.
– Alcalá de Henares: The PP will govern thanks to an agreement with Vox, removing the PSOE from the mayor’s office. Mayor, Judith Piquet (first woman mayor in this municipality).
– Fuenlabrada: The PSOE will continue to govern, as it has been doing since 1979. This legislature, again with an absolute majority, will once again be Mayor Javier Ayala.
– Leganés: The PP will govern in a minority as it is the party with the most votes, seizing the mayoralty from the PSOE. Mayor, Miguel Angel Recuenco.
– Getafe: The PSOE will govern again with the support of Más Madrid and Podemos-IU-AV. Mayor, Sara Hernández (third term).
– Alcorcón: The PSOE will govern again with the support of Más Madrid and Ganar Alcorcón, although the list with the most votes was the PP. Mayoress, Candelaria Testa.
– Torrejón de Ardoz: The PP will rule with an absolute majority. Mayor, again Ignacio Vazquez.
– Parla: The PSOE will govern again with the support of Más Madrid and Podemos-IU-AV. Mayor, again Ramón Jurado.
– Alcobendas: The PP will govern in a minority as the party with the most votes, removing the PSOE and Cs, who shared out the previous term, from the mayor’s office. Mayoress, Rocío Alcántara (first woman to govern the municipality).
-Arganda del Rey: The PP will govern in a minority as the most voted force, removing the PSOE from the Mayor’s Office. Mayor, Alberto Escribano.
– Rivas-Vaciamadrid: IU will govern again with the support of the PSOE, although the PP was the most voted force. Mayor, again Aída Castillejo.
– San Sebastián de los Reyes: The PP will govern in a minority, as the most voted party, removing the PSOE and Cs from the mayor’s office. Mayor, Lucía Fernández (first woman to govern the municipality).
– Coslada: The PSOE will govern with the support of Más Madrid and Podemos, although the PP was the list with the most votes. Mayor again, Ángel Viveros.
– San Fernando de Henares: The PSOE will govern again, supported by Más Madrid. Mayor again, Javier Corpa.
– Aranjuez: The PP will govern after an agreement with Vox. Mayor again, María José Martínez.
– Las Rozas: The PP will govern again by an absolute majority. Mayor, again José de la Uz.
– Valdemoro: The PP will govern, although without an absolute majority, removing Cs from the mayor’s office. Mayor, David Conde.
– Pinto: The PP (force with the most votes) will govern with the support of Pinto Avanza, removing the PSOE from the mayor’s office. Mayor, Solomon Aguado.
– Collado Villalba: The PP will govern again in a minority as the force with the most votes. Mayor again, Mariola Vargas.
– Colmenar Viejo: The PP will govern after an agreement with Vox, thus retaining the mayoralty. Mayor, Carlos Blazquez.
– Arroyomolinos: The PP will govern again after an agreement, although the candidate, Ana Millán, will not be mayor as she is vice president of the Assembly. Mayor, Luis Quiroga.
