TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Political observer Trias Politika Strategis Agung Baskoro said the attack on presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan against Prabowo Subianto regarding land ownership compared to the difficulty of TNI soldiers getting a house to live in was done deliberately from the start. According to Agung, this attitude is because Anies has no other choice because Prabowo has high electability.
“To enter the second round, the choice is, yes, to attack the one with the highest electability,” said Agung on Sunday, January 7 2024.
Apart from that, Agung believes that Anies is also trying to cover up the shortcomings of his deputy candidate Muhaimin Iskandar, who was deemed not optimal at the vice presidential candidate debate. As a result, Anies needs to regain his electability in this third debate.
According to Agung, the easy target in the presidential candidate debate which was held at Istora Senayan on Sunday evening, January 7 2024, was Prabowo.
“So (Anies) immediately became aggressive and this was also part of the electoral compensation to cover up Cak Imin’s less than optimal performance in the previous vice presidential debate. “When we were still conveying the vision and mission, we immediately talked about land,” said Agung.

This presidential candidate debate was attended by Anies Baswedan, Prabowo Subianto, and Ganjar Pranowo. The three vice presidential candidates – Muhaimin Iskandar, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Mahfud Md – appeared to be present at Istora Senayan, but only as companions. Meanwhile, the presidential candidate debate that night had the themes of Defense, Security, Geopolitics, International Relations and Globalization.
Apart from that, said Agung, the attack was also a reason for Prabowo to become emotional. Prabowo’s emotions in the debate seemed unable to be completely controlled. “It’s his emotions that he can’t completely control because it’s a sensitive matter. “On the debate stage, Anies succeeded in quotation marks,” he said.
