Among the comments there are also nods to memes, something that many politicians have used in their favor to go viral on the internet, so if the intention of this strategy is to generate interest in the candidate, the task may have been fulfilled.

Should the strategies be improved?

Of course, to carry out an electoral campaign, the parties study the population for which their candidate will seek to win the vote, so perhaps these strategies can continue to work in some localities of the country.
