Boyan Chukov, an international commentator and analyst focused his speech on the personality of Xi Jinping and his role. “For me, this is the person who will remain in the history of China. The great merit of Xi Jinping is that in the last ten years, he has transformed China from an object to a subject of international relations. In his works, Xi Jinping achieved something unique – he combined Marxism with Confucianism and from the first day, standing at the head of the state, began to pursue the Chinese dream. And the Chinese dream is the revival of the Chinese nation. Boyan Chukov touched on all three components of the Chinese dream that are presented in the works of Xi Jinping: first – Chineseized Marxism, which is an important component of the Chinese dream – China is great because it has never renounced any part of his history. As a second important point, he defined patriotic and national ideas, such as nationalism, people’s rule and people’s well-being. And the third, extremely important – this is the legacy of Confucius. “Very often in the speeches of Xi Jinping, one can trace the main thoughts of Confucius”, said Chukov and ended his speech with a quote from the works of the Chinese president: “It is the Communist Party that is the continuation and receiver of the values of the spiritual world of China, which are rooted in the fertile depth of traditional culture”!

Prof. Iskren Ivanov, Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of St. Cl. Ohridski” focused on the importance of China as a strategic partner of Bulgaria. He recalled the almost 75-year history of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which we will celebrate next year, and quoted the words of President Xi Jinping, who said “… in order to put the world in order, you must first put your nation in order»! In this regard, he also dwelt in detail on specific facts from the history of China under the leadership of Xi Jinping and the CCP.

At the end of the forum, the chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists, Snezhana Todorova, introduced the attendees to the recent establishment of the Center for Media Cooperation between the Bulgarian Union of Journalists and the All-China Union of Journalists, which was officially opened in the spring of this year. She expressed her hope that the next meeting on initiatives under the “One Belt, One Road” project would take place in this center and invited the Bulgarian and Chinese representatives present to the Bulgarian Black Sea city of Varna.
