Your only limit is your mind,” Czabański wrote on Instagram after Karaś was the first to reach the finish line.
Jurand Czabański completed a ten-time Ironman!
On Sunday, Jurand Czabański was the second to finish the Brasil Ultra Tri. It took the Pole about 200 hours to cover the distance. “What a thrill! Jurand Czabański becomes the runner-up of this edition! Congratulations, Jurand, it was great to participate in this achievement! What an extraordinary performance,” the organizers wrote.
Robert Karaś in a T-shirt with the inscription “TEAM Juran-Dzik” was waiting for him at the finish line. The triathlete congratulated his friend and gave him a warm hug. “We did it, champ,” Czabański wrote on Instastory.
There is also a third Pole, Rafał Go Dzwon, taking part in the competition. If he keeps up the pace, he will be on the lowest step of the podium.
Who is Jurand Czabanski?
Jurand Czabański lives in the United States, where he works as a physiotherapist. He collaborated with Polish stars, e.g. with Mateusz Gamrot, Joanna Jędrzejczyk and Borys Mańkowski.
He became interested in triathlon only two years ago, when… his wife refused to allow him to climb the highest peak in North America (Denali, 6190 m above sea level). “She made such a fuss that I preferred to withdraw from this idea. I told her that in that case I would be doing Ironman” – he recalled in March this year. in an interview with academiatriathlon.pl.
As reported by the website, Czabański initially took part in the 70.3 distance competition (half Ironman). He then competed in Oregon in a double Ironman where he finished sixth. After the competition, he decided to focus on improving the quality of training, as well as investing in better equipment. He went on to win the Impossible Man, the Washington Island Ultra 36 Hour Triathlon and the Virginia Triple Ironman.
In Brazil, Czabański made his debut at the distance of ten times Ironman. The Pole wanted to finish the competition more than racing. As he emphasized, he wanted to test the limits of his body. Before the competition, he announced that if he finished it, he would like to take part in a twenty-time Ironman in Mexico.
