Polish referee Shimon Marciniak to lead UEFA Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan

Polish referee Shimon Marciniak will lead the final match of the European Football Champions League, which is scheduled between Manchester City of England and Inter of Italy on June 10 at Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul, as announced by the European Union (Wifa) for the game on Monday.
Marciniak, 42, supervised 8 matches in the continental championship this season, including the second leg of the semi-final between City and Real Madrid.
Marchignac managed the last World Cup final in Qatar between Argentina, who were crowned champions at the expense of France on penalties.
Marciniak began his arbitration career at the age of 21 as a referee for amateur matches, before turning professional in 2006. In 2009 he was awarded the arbitration badge in the Polish First Division, then he was approved as an international referee in 2011.
Since 2014, Marciniak has become one of the referees of the European club championships and European qualifiers for the World Cup, and in 2018 he managed his first World Cup match, and in the same year he managed the European Super Cup match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
His career took a major turn after he suffered from health problems. “The last year and a half has been very difficult for me,” he said before the World Cup final. We know how hard this has been for me. Now life is smiling at me again and I can’t stop smiling because it feels great.”
He recounted his beginnings when he was a player in his home town of Wisla Block and decided to move to arbitration after a conversation with a referee who sent him off. “We talked after the match and he told me an important sentence: If you think this work is easy, try it yourself. You will see. I said to myself: Why not? I immediately went to receive Lessons and I started refereeing. I’m grateful to him, because if it wasn’t for that red card, I wouldn’t have been a referee in my life.”
