CDP may close due to the transfer of Cyberpunk 2077, which it was supposed to publish in Poland. This was stated by the portal KomputerSwiat with reference to its sources. According to the publication, CDP has prepared a lot of promotional material with the old release date, which have become unusable.
The GRYOnline website reported that the company had passed layoffs, and although some of the employees remained in place, the CDP is waiting for closure. In a commentary to the PolskiGamedev portal, a publisher spokesperson said the CDP is “considering different options for the strategy” and will announce them later. CD Projekt RED on Facebook has promised that all CDP preorders will be completed.
The CDP publisher was previously part of the CD Projekt holding together with CD Projekt RED. In 2014, members of her board bought back a controlling stake and gained independence. At the moment, the company is not directly related to the developers of Cyberpunk 2077, but acts only as a publisher of its games in Poland.
January 16th became is knownthat CD Projekt RED postponed the release of the game to September 17, 2020. According to company representatives, the project is already ready, but the developers want to conduct additional tests and fix the flaws.
