Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Moravecki stated that the summoning of the Polish ambassador to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs should not have happened. The politician said that such “mistakes” should not be, he wrote in Twitter.
“The call of the Polish ambassador – a representative of the country that was the only one left in Kyiv on the day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry should not have taken place,” Morawiecki said.
He stated that such “mistakes” should not be made in international politics, in the context of the ongoing war.
The Polish prime minister recalled the “huge support” that Poland provides to Ukraine.
Morawiecki noted that Poland will always defend its “good name”, security, and the interests of “no other country” will never prevail over the interests of the Republic of Poland.
The Polish ambassador to Ukraine was summoned after a statement by the representative of the President of Poland, Marcin Przydacz. He said Ukraine “should start evaluating” Poland’s role in aid. The official said this in the context of discussing the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products to Poland. As a result of the meeting with the ambassador, Foreign Ministry spokesman Nikolenko wrote that such statements are untrue and unacceptable. At the same time, he said that the Ukrainian-Polish friendship “is much deeper than political expediency.” In the evening, the Polish Foreign Ministry summoned the Ukrainian ambassador because of “statements by representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.”
