Partition plan Polish Post and merger of the business part separated from the company with Orlen is being prepared at the Ministry of State Assets the journal reports. According to unofficial findings of Rzeczpospolita, the ministry is working on building a company that would be able to compete on the courier market with InPost and foreign companies, such as DPD or DHL.

The project – as the newspaper notes – assumes the separation of courier and logistics services from the Post Office to a separate entity. “Such an operator will require significant external capital – hence the idea to merge this company with Orlen (the giant has been successfully developing the Orlen Paczka courier service for several years)” – reports “Rz”. The ministry headed by Jacek Sasin did not answer Rzeczpospolita’s questions on this matter.
Orlen, in turn, admitted that in the context of its upcoming business plans “various options are being considered that will contribute to the development of the Orlen Paczka vending machine network”.

“At this stage, we do not comment on talks on potential cooperation,” the company said in a statement.
The Polish Post does not deny it
According to the daily, representatives of Poczta Polska do not deny that there is a possibility of dividing the company. – The Management Board is in constant contact with the owner in order to develop an optimal legal and structural framework for the further functioning of the company – said the company’s spokesman Daniel Witkowski in an interview with “Rzeczpospolita”.
“Rzeczpospolita” reminds that Poczta Polska is in a terrible financial condition. The year 2021 brought it a loss of PLN 5.7 million, while in 2021 it had a profit of over PLN 177 million
