Polish Foreign Minister accuses Russia of misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic | News | News

Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Chaputovic accused Russia of spreading misinformation about the unstable epidemiological situation in the world amid the spread of coronavirus. On Thursday, April 2, he said at a video conference of NATO foreign ministers in conjunction with the organization’s secretary general Jens Stoltenberg.

Russia’s misinformation is very clear, it is propaganda in nature and worries the members of the alliance,” the minister said, adding that Russia “poses a threat in the Baltic and Black Sea regions, Ukraine and Syria.” At the same time, the Foreign Minister did not cite any examples or any evidence.

Chaputovich also emphasized the importance of continuing the policy of rapprochement between NATO countries and the government of Ukraine and Georgia to expand the zone of stability and security in the immediate vicinity of the alliance. He added that following the meeting, a mandate was approved to modernize cooperation between countries, the portal reports Wnp.

In addition, Chaputovich expressed support for the expert commission of the “group of wise men” on NATO reform and specifically its member, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Anna Fotygi, who is a well-known critic of Russian policy towards Ukraine.

March 20 in Poland epidemic mode was introduced against the spread of coronavirus. On March 31, Prime Minister Mateusz Moravecki issued a decree on toughening quarantine measures to fight a new type of infection.

According to Worldometer on April 2, in Poland more than 2946 people fell ill, 56 patients were cured, and 57 died.
