Swatowska-Wenglarczyk admitted that this medal is for her “the fulfillment of fencing dreams”. Jarecka emphasized that in recent actions she simply used a proven solution that usually brings hits. Such drama must have been necessary – she stated.
All the players thanked every person who contributed to their success – family, coaches, and also… bosses at work.
Jarecka returned to sports after the birth of her child. My son is here. I can’t wait until we finish the interviews and I can hug him. My son is now in the care of his family. He was in the Olympic Village on a visit. Now he will receive a medal as a reward – emphasized the young mother.
Swatowska-Wenglarczyk admitted that she had been struggling for many years to “get to where I am now”.
It will be a very important element in my entire fencing career – she mentioned. Knapik-Miazga did not want to decide whether it would be the end of her career, but admitted that in the USA she taught fencing youth. Asked about her first thought after the decisive hit in the extra time, she replied that she had only a big: “Aaaaaaaaaaaa”.
I represented Poland for so many years. I think I only missed one tournament. I invite everyone to such a beautiful adventure that has lasted 25 years. When I didn’t go to the competition in the United Arab Emirates, the sheikh canceled the tournament. Now I definitely need to rest and cool down – she concluded.
Swatowska-Wenglarczyk, Knapik-Miazga, Jarecka and Klasik, who defeated the Chinese team 32:31 in overtime in the deciding match, won Poland’s second medal in this year’s games. Earlier, Klaudia Zwolińska won silver in the K1 competition in whitewater kayaking.
