The telephone of a lawyer who is involved in legal proceedings against the PiS party and that of an investigating judge who is critical of the ruling party are also said to have been hacked. According to Citizen Lab, their lives were “followed very closely” through the spy software. Ewa Wrzosek, the investigating judge, received a message in November from tech company Apple that her phone may have been hacked with Pegasus software.
But the Polish court does not intend to start an investigation, the Public Prosecutor of the Warsaw district announced. “The only indication that a cyber attack has taken place is a message from the manufacturer of the phone,” it sounds like an argument. “With the statement that the allegation could also be false.” Plus, Wrzosek doesn’t want to hand over her phone.
Enough reasons, according to the Public Prosecution Service, not to start an investigation. Wrzosek has already announced that she will appeal that decision.
