Protests by Polish carriers created a crowd of cargo trucks on the border with Ukraine. These huge queues will continue even after the end of the strike.
This disappointing forecast was made by a Polish journalist Marek Serantspeaking on the air of the Ukrainian Radio NV. He spoke about his impressions after his trip to the border.
“Yesterday I was returning from Kyiv to Warsaw and personally saw the queues on one side and the other at the border,” Serant said.
The journalist emphasized that both the Ukrainian and Polish sides were completely unprepared for such a development of events. He also said that it will take at least another month after the blockade is lifted for the situation to improve.
The Polish reporter pointed out that the safety of drivers in the current circumstances falls far short of the minimum requirements. According to him, people are literally dying in queues as the situation gets to “terrible things” and clashes lead to injuries to people.
“Are we really living in the 21st century?” the journalist wonders.
Previously EADaily reported that on the blocked Ukrainian-Polish border, in a queue near the Korchova checkpoint on the Polish side, another Ukrainian truck driver died.
