Analisadaily.com, Medan – The Governor of North Sumatra, Edy Rahmayadi reviewed the implementation of the National Polio Immunization Week at the Sarirejo Village Head Office, Jalan Sejati Number 15 Medan Polonia, Monday (13/2)

With this Polio PIN, parents can take their toddlers to the nearest Puskemas or Lurah Office, which carries out Polio immunization. This is useful for strengthening the child’s immunity or resistance to the polio virus. Vaccines for children can reduce the risk of contracting the polio virus into adulthood. “With this polio immunization, we hope that no children will be found infected with the polio virus. We ask mothers who have toddlers to vaccinate their babies immediately,” said Edy. He saw and greeted the mothers who brought their toddlers to be immunized against polio. Edy Rahmayadi also gave the polio vaccine directly to a toddler. “We thank the people who have participated in the successful implementation of this National Polio Immunization Week,” he said. Sari Rejo Urban Village Head, Edi Gunawan, conveyed that regarding the polio immunization activity in the Sari Rejo Sub-District, his party has instructed the entire community to bring Toddlers who have not been vaccinated against polio to the Lurah Office. “There are as many as 967 thousand of our people in nine sub-districts who are there to take part in this Polio Immunization Week. Our target is 50% of people who have toddlers. We have urged them to take this vaccine,” he said. According to Edi, so far in the Sari Rejo Village, no toddlers have been found infected with the polio virus. “We hope there won’t be any, especially since there is already Polio Vaccine Week, and we hope there won’t be any,” he said.(JW/CSP)
