Minister of Health Roman Prymula tarnished his reputation as an epidemic expert by speaking after being appointed a member of the government. It is typical to zigzag and disobey your own word.
When he was appointed Minister of Health, he said a lot about how he didn’t want to prevent anything but the virus. He then, in the words of Andrej Babiš, began to communicate “too” with the media and placed the Czech government in the role of statist. The only opposing member of the government, Alena Schiller, who claimed that she would not support anything that would have economic consequences, eventually capitulated. And the Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Karel Havlíček actually capitulated.
It is not at all difficult to trace the expression of Prymula for the media. Last this:
In an interview with Saturday’s Law, he expelled Prymulthat the government would tighten measures this week. “Now is the time to evaluate the measures we introduced last week and this week. Now we are not going to tighten, at least a week, but I think we will keep the time of 14 days when we will not go to further tightening, “said Prymula.
Nevertheless, he did not fulfill this promise again and shops and services have already been closed. There is constant talk of “exponential growth”, which is supposed to indicate a sharp increase in the number of infected. In fact, it seems that people who are more likely to be positive due to their contacts with those who have already been infected are likely to be challenged to test more and more accurately. When the number of infected people on Monday is less than the maximum, it will be described as the “highest Monday increase”, again completely out of the fact that most Monday tests were also performed.
And it’s starting to “harden.” The government will order drapes in the built-up areas of the municipality, ie in the built-up area, except that if a person is no closer to another than 2 meters, but those who are without a veil and follow the 2 meter rule, will they be seen as “spreaders” of infection? In essence, the economic impact in order to save lives has been completely resigned. In this context, I would quite like to know whether the same attention should be paid to other diseases that are still killing, even without a covid and in decisive numbers.
In the current situation, the policy of the opposition deserves a separate chapter. For example, the chairwoman of TOP 09, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, stated that Prymul’s order must be “observed despite the government”. It’s just a bomb!
A company can only function well in this situation if it maintains and adheres to truly reasonable measures. Everything beyond this rational limit is problematic. Veils are, of course, a rational measure where people in large numbers meet. In a car where people from one workplace go together, their use is just a simple buzz. Plus: will the police stop and check every car where more people are driving, whether it’s a family or not? Prymul’s measures are simply irrational and interfere with the life of society more than would be necessary according to the real situation.
I also do not believe that the alleged peak of the epidemic will come after November 3. This is just another attempt to push through an extension of the state of emergency, and I am very curious what the Chamber of Deputies will do. Will he agree “despite” the government? All Prymula did after taking office was a denial of what he had said two or three days before. He never gave the measures time to take effect, and in fact, almost every day he announces new restrictions and responds to “numbers”.
It will cost us tens of billions of crowns in a situation where the Czech health care system is not collapsing, even though Prymula and Hamáček foretold a “collapse” for this week fourteen days ago.
