Policewoman steals colleague’s bank card and buys everything with it: “I didn’t look at the name, otherwise I wouldn’t have done it” (Brussels)

A 56-year-old policewoman from Brussels-North was questioned yesterday for theft, there was also a search. The agent had stolen a colleague’s bank card and used it to buy all kinds of things during working hours. Thanks to the security cameras in the stores, she was immediately caught, Sudpresse reports.

The woman is said to have stolen the bank card in the police station. During her working hours she took it to supermarkets Delhaize and DI. She bought, among other things, a bottle of milk and a perfume. And at the station she bought a train pass. She also went to eat in the Quick.

But her colleague quickly realized that her bank card had disappeared from her wallet and discovered that payments had been made in several stores. The images from the security cameras were requested and she saw – much to her surprise and that of half the force – that her closest colleague was behind the theft.

The stealing officer stated that she had not stolen the card but had found it. “And I didn’t look at the name on the map. Otherwise I wouldn’t have done this,” she would have said. The policewoman was released after questioning. She risks being fired and a conviction for theft.
