A policewoman was surprised by a suspect who attacked her with a plastic bottle last Monday on the streets of the Bronx.
A video from a security camera shows how the alleged perpetrator, identified as 45-year-old José García, approaches the officer from behind and hits her.
The New Yorkpolice reported that the assault it occurred at 231st Street and Broadway in the Kingsbridge area around 2:00 pm on April 17.
The man then tried to hit the uniformed partner before being subdued.
The officers were guarding the outside of a tobacco shop.
The suspect was charged with various crimes, including assault, obstruction of government administration, resisting arrest, threatening, criminal possession of a weapon, and stalking.
The woman received no serious injuries.

They cannot help you with immigration. They will say that they can help you and ask you to pay them. But they can’t help you.
