Policeman is sentenced to six years in prison for asking for a bribe of S/ 7,000

The First Permanent Single Criminal Court of Callao sentenced the non-commissioned officer of the National Police, Camilo Ernesto Rolando Quiroga, to six years in prison for having requested a bribe of S/ 7,000 from an alleged micro-marketer of drugs in exchange for not reporting him.

The court led by Judge Gino Delzo Livias also determined that the police officer pay compensation of S/ 5,000 in favor of the State.

The events would date back to March 2021, when the drug seller, identified as Manuel Mozo, was arrested on the border of San Martín de Porres and Callao. Once he confessed that he had more narcotics in his house, he was transferred to Dipincri.

After the intervention, non-commissioned officer Rolando asked Manuel Mozo for a bribe in exchange for letting him go free and not arresting his partner. Precisely, it was the woman in charge of withdrawing the money to bribe the police officer.

After having paid the bribe, the drug micro-dealers proceeded to report the police. The facts could be verified thanks to the fact that the secrecy of communications was lifted, and the incriminating messages could be found.
