A mobile phone digital forensic (analysis of evidence) found at the site of the death of a former mayor of Seoul city Park Won-soon was completed in five months.

According to the police on the 23rd, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency completed a mobile phone forensic ceremony that resumed on the 17th. It is reported that a forensic ceremony was held by the bereaved family of Mayor Park and a representative from the city of Seoul. The body of Mayor Park and the cell phone found were iPhone models that were difficult to unlock.

Earlier, with the help of the victim, former mayor’s secretary Park, the police even completed the’imaging’ task of unlocking the cell phone and moving the entire information so as not to damage it. The bereaved side filed a quasi-appeal to the court asking for an order to stop the forensics, which was stopped after about a week. The Seoul Northern District Law rejected the request for the survivors on the 9th, and the mobile phone forensics of Mayor Park resumed after five months.

It is known that the data obtained by the police through this forensic is limited to revealing the death of Mayor Park, such as Kakao Talk and text messages exchanged immediately before his death. The police applied for a cell phone seizure and search warrant twice to resolve the suspicion that Park’s sexual harassment was aided by officials in the secretary’s office, but the court dismissed all of them.
