The State Police (VP) has imposed administrative fines on participants of the Latvian National Theater director Valdis Lūriņš’s anniversary celebrations for non-compliance with Covid-19 restrictions.
The police have called five people to administrative responsibility for unauthorized gathering in the Teika district at the beginning of February, the Public Relations Department of the State Police confirmed to LETA.
The amount of the penalty was not mentioned to the police, but it was pointed out that in each case of violation of the Covid-19 restrictions, the police, when deciding on the penalty, assess the nature of the violation and the offender’s attitude towards the incident.
In the video filmed by Latvian Television at the beginning of February about the 70th anniversary of the director and actor of the Latvian National Theater Lūriņš, it can be seen that several well-known colleagues and classmates of Lūriņš have come to the snack table in the yard of the party.
Violations of the Covid-19 Restrictions or Prohibitions Act can impose a fine of ten to 2,000 euros on an individual.
