The mass of student elements will hold a demonstration in front of the MPR/DPR RI building on Tuesday, June 28 tomorrow. The police prepared personnel to guard the student demonstration.
“That’s the plan, there is a (demo). There are several combined elements. The demands are related to the RKUHP. Tomorrow there will be BEM UI, UNJ, UKI, FISIP UI, including the student political block,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin when contacted, Monday (27/27). /6/2022).
The demonstration is planned to start at 11.00 WIB, Tuesday (28/6/2022). The mass concentration point of the demonstration is in front of the DPR building with an estimated number of up to 1,000 participants.
“The mass estimate is around 500-1,000,” he said.
The police have set up security to guard the student demonstrations. The police have mapped out the groups of students who will take part in the demonstration not only from Jakarta.
“Until now we are still doing mapping in areas because those who will join are also student friends from Tangerang as well and some outside Jakarta,” he said.
Furthermore, Komarudin also asked the participants to take an active role in anticipating any intruders in tomorrow’s demonstration. The police hope that students will demonstrate in an orderly and peaceful manner.
“We urge everyone to take care not to let the aspirations that are carried out be polluted by the actions of individuals from other groups who will join. We hope that the cooperation will be jointly monitored because those who know it are they, who are their friends or not,” concluded Komarudin .
Demo Related to Draft RKUHP
Previously, the University of Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM UI) said it would hold a demonstration in front of the DPR RI building, Jakarta, tomorrow. The demand for the demonstration is related to the draft of the Draft Criminal Code (RKUHP) which has not been opened to the public.
BEM UI through its Twitter account uploaded an invitation for a demonstration in Senayan with the hashtag #All BisaKena. BEM UI criticized the discussion of the RKUHP which was considered not transparent.
“We have waited enough, my friends, to get clarity in the form of transparency and democratic justice from the RKUHP ‘book of interests’!,” wrote BEM UI via its Twitter account, as seen detik.comMonday (27/6/2022).
BEM UI said the demonstration would start on Tuesday (28/6) at 11.00 WIB tomorrow. The UI mass gathering point was in the FISIP field for the location of the action in front of the Indonesian Parliament building.
“We invite friends to yellow the streets of Senayan,” said BEM UI.
