Police: victims of Amsterdam stabbing out of danger | Inland

On Friday evening, five people were stabbed in and near the Ferdinand Bolstraat. One of them, a 64-year-old man from Amsterdam, died. The four other victims were taken to hospital. Three of them come from Amsterdam, one lives in Haarlem. The injured are between 21 and 28 years old. So far there does not seem to be a connection between them.

The police assume that one person, a 29-year-old man, is responsible for the stabbing. Police said earlier that there was no evidence of a terrorist motive, although all options are kept open. Some witnesses described the suspect’s behavior as confused.

The suspect’s home has been searched. The police have confiscated data carriers and a car. The arrested man from Amstelveen was interrogated on Saturday. The investigation also looked at “possible substance use” by the suspect. Apart from a few traffic offenses, he is not known to the police and judicial authorities.
