Police discovered the unusual lottery during a search of a property in Murcia, the city in southeastern Spain, according to the news agency AFP.
In one of the rooms, they came across a list of people who had paid in money to take part in the draw for two “Christmas baskets”.
One of the baskets was to be raffled off on Christmas Day, the big holiday in many European countries. The second on Epiphany 6 January, which is also a holiday in Spain.
Lottery tickets for the 1st Christmas basket cost 5 euros, while tickets for the “three-king basket” cost 10 euros, according to notes found by the police.
The prizes were an eight-kilo well-aged bacon, a bottle of whiskey, a carton of optional tobacco, five grams of cocaine, a certain amount of hashish or marijuana and 50 euros in cash.
