The driver, a young man, was sent to Nordlandssykehuset due to injuries sustained in the crash.
On Sunday, police confirmed that the driver had died and that the next of kin had been informed.
On Twitter, the police wrote:
– The driver was taken by ambulance to the hospital after the accident. The driver died today of his injuries. The next of kin have been informed.
According to police, the passenger in the car was unhurt in the crash.
– The affected families are being assisted by the municipality’s crisis team, inform the police.
Police said on Friday that a car with two people had gone off the road. According to operations director Ulf Slettan, the car hit a lamppost and then went onto the roof.
The accident occurred on the right-hand side of the road towards Bodø. The road has been closed to traffic for a period of time.
