The police will boss the batik Pekalongan Ramadhan (38) who gave away tens of millions of dollars during a village tradition in Jenggot Village, South Pekalongan, Central Java. The tradition made 4 people faint.
“For sohibul hajat, we will ask for information and then we will transfer it to the Pekalongan Police Criminal Investigation Unit,” said South Pekalongan Police Chief, AKP Aries Tri Hartanto as reported detikJatengSunday (9/7/2023).
The police said that as many as 4 people fainted because of the jostling during the jockeying. The victim’s condition is currently improving.
“The victims have improved. None of them have MD (died), as was rumored. Four people (fainted), one adult mother and three children, of which two have been allowed to go home,” said Aries.
Meanwhile, Jenggot Village Head Muhamad Fatoni said that his party and local officials had asked for the event to be cancelled. However, the owner of the celebration still insists that this tradition be carried out.
“Previously we warned not to hold the event. We ourselves also know from social media information and I visited with RT, Babinsa and Babinkamtibmas. We tried to ban it, but still insisted on holding the event,” said Fatoni.
