Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district — Buchenbach — accident at work with loading crane — 2 injured — major traffic disturbances

On Thursday, March 17, 2022, at around 5:30 p.m., the integrated control center in Freiburg was informed of an accident at work at a large company in Buchenbach.
According to initial findings, part of a loading/conveyor crane broke off – two employees of the company who were in the cab of the crane were trapped and seriously injured. A helicopter was also used to rescue people.
The police have started investigations into the accident.
For reasons of road safety and to carry out the rescue and investigative measures, the through road in Buchenbach (L 128/Talstraße) between Griesdobelstraße and Spirzenstraße had to be completely closed.
It is not yet clear how long the closure will remain in place – major traffic disruptions are to be expected (as of 6:30 p.m.).
