Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district – Breisach: Breisach police station under new management

Friborg (ots) –

Since the transfer of the long-standing district manager Thomas Hagnberger to the Freiburg-Süd police station in February 2021, Mr. Joachim Adler has successfully managed the official business of the police station manager. From then on, Police Councilor Christian Schmidt was in charge of the Breisach police station. “The Breisach police station is fortunate to have a young, motivated, technically competent and francophile boss at its head,” emphasized Police President Franz Semling.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the inauguration took place in a small but festive setting on the premises of the Breisach police station. After the delivery of the appointment document by Police President Semling, Capitaine Nadia Boughani, representing the Gendarmerie Nationale, and 1st Deputy Carsten Müller, representing the city of Breisach, were among the first to congratulate them.

38-year-old Christian Schmidt was hired by the police in 2003. After completing his studies at the Police College, he held various positions at the Rheinfelden and Müllheim police stations. This was followed by assignments in the command and operations staff of the police headquarters in Freiburg, at the Police College and the Ministry of the Interior. On October 1st, 2019, Christian Schmidt was admitted to the master’s degree program at the German Police University in Münster, which he successfully completed at the end of September 2021. Back in police practice, the freshly appointed police councilor was initially tasked with setting up the competence team Cybercrime before he took over the management of the Breisach police station on February 1st, 2022.

The Breisach police station, with around 70 employees, is responsible for the western part of the district Breisgau-Upper Black Forest from Bischoffingen to Grezhausen and from Holzhausen to Breisach. The district, with its two police stations in March and Bötzingen, is therefore responsible for around 58,000 residents in the city of Breisach and eight communities in the surrounding area covering a total area of 190 square kilometers.

A special feature is the direct border of the city of Breisach to France. The Francophile Christian Schmidt, who speaks French very well, will also be able to contribute to the German-French friendship.

Due to the limited number of participants at the inauguration, the media representatives are given the opportunity to get in touch with Police Commissioner Christian Schmidt personally. Appointments can be made by calling 07667 9117-0.
