On Saturday 17 September 2022, around 3.15pm, a road accident occurred on the country road 187 between March – Buchheim and the intersection with the B 31, in which a motorcyclist was the only one involved.
The 34-year-old driver, who was traveling in the direction of Gottenheim, was on a training trip with his driving instructor, who was sitting in the car behind. Presumably due to a driving error, he went off the road to the right in a left-hand bend and unfortunately crashed into an overflow pipe that ran there. In doing so, he was seriously injured.
The rescue service that was called took over the emergency room and was able to stabilize it according to the emergency doctor. He was taken to a nearby hospital by rescue helicopter.
Material damage was caused to the motorcycle. The aisle had to be temporarily closed.
The Breisach Police Station has resumed further investigations.
