The bag was found next to county road 222 in Gustavsberg. Parts of the off-road area were cordoned off while police forensics examined the bag – an operation which continued for hours on Sunday night.
The preliminary investigation into suspected murder is led by prosecutors, but no further information about the investigation is being provided at this time.
No person has been detained.
– We do not comment on the contents of the bag, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police, on Monday morning.
Police have not confirmed the contents of the bag. But announced later in the evening that a 35-year-old man had been found dead. Next of kin have been notified.
Discovered by passersby
The police currently see no links to gang or firearm violence, according to Mats Eriksson, police spokesperson.
The bag was discovered by passers-by in the off-road area where several people were for some kind of sporting activity. Several of them, who also alerted the police after the bag was found, have been interviewed by the police. They are not suspects in the case.
– There must have been a number of people out there and we are looking at IDs and identifying them. There are no suspects, says Mats Eriksson.
