The police conducted a seizure and search for SK Innovation, which is suspected of leaking the trade secrets of electric vehicle batteries.
According to the police on the 25th, the security apology department of the Seoul Police Agency sent an investigator to the SK building in Seorin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul this morning to conduct seizure and search.
In May 2019, the police received a complaint from LG Chem stating that SK Innovation had stolen its trade secrets in the process of manpower outflow, and initiated an investigation.
In the same year, on September 17 and 20, the police seized and searched the headquarters of SK Innovation, the Daedeok Institute of Technology in Daejeon, and the battery factory in Seosan, Chungnam.
Since April 2019, SK Innovation has been suing LG Chem for leaking business secrets for electric vehicle batteries.
In April 2019, LG Chem filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and the Delaware District Court that SK Innovation infringed trade secrets related to the battery module and pack manufacturing process. In May of that year, SK Innovation and personnel in charge of human resources were sued to the Seoul Police Agency on charges of violating the law on the prevention and protection of industrial technology leakage.
SK Innovation filed a lawsuit against LG in infringement of the trade secret of electric vehicle batteries to the US ITC, and the ITC recently raised the hand of LG.
