KOLLUM – On Friday evening, the police stopped two scooter riders one after the other in and around Kollum. This did not go without a fight, both gentlemen ignored a stop sign. One of the two was even forced to stop by a police car.
Driving around honking
The first driver of a scooter was found around 7:30 PM by Noardeast-Fryslân Enforcement on Voorstraat. The scooter rider drove around honking and when he got a stop sign he took off. Ultimately, the enforcers managed to stop the driver along the Willem Lodewijkstraat.
Drunk without a driver’s license
After his standing position, it became clear why the 30-year-old resident of the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân wanted to run away. He did not have a valid driver’s license. He also appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. At the police station the man blew 355 μg/l. An official report was drawn up for all violations.
Ignore stop sign
When officers drove out of Kollum in an unmarked car, they saw a scooter driving without lights. He drove along the Van Limburg Stirumweg, where he then received a stop sign. When he saw the stop sign, he immediately took off.
Forced to stop
The other police car, which just took the previous scooter rider to the station, saw it happen and cut off the scooter on the Foarwei in Aldwâld. Finally, the unobtrusive unit forced the scooter to stop. The 43-year-old driver from the municipality of Achtkarspelen was arrested with the help of enforcement. He has been taken to the police station.
Scooter seized
This driver also drove with an invalid driver’s license. This was not the first time, so the man’s scooter was confiscated. He was also suspected of driving under the influence of drugs. He was taken to the station for a blood test. While awaiting the results of the blood test, a report was drawn up for all the facts found.
