The Berlin police stopped an allegedly illegal car race by two men. The 29 and 30-year-old drivers sped on Saturday evening at speeds of up to 140 kilometers per hour from Berlin-Spandau in the direction of Mitte, as the police announced on Sunday. A civil patrol observed the event, the speeders were followed with support forces and were finally stopped.
The police said they had confiscated the men’s cars. The 30-year-old gave up his driver’s license. The 29-year-old had no personal details and was therefore treated with identification services. The police said that both are now being investigated because of a “prohibited motor vehicle race”.
