Police Start Placing Stickers on Unvaccinated Residents’ Houses

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Polda Metro Jaya plans to start putting stickers on people’s homes DKI Jakarta who have not received the Covid-19 vaccine injection on Friday (13/8).

This effort is said to be carried out to achieve 100 percent of the vaccination target for citizens in the nation’s capital on August 17.

“Today’s plan is to put stickers on. So, innovate now. Each of the 900 RWs already has an outlet there, but it’s going to take longer,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Friday (13/8).

Yusri explained that currently fewer people are vaccinating at outlets that have been prepared by the government.

Police data records that 98.1 percent of DKI Jakarta residents have been vaccinated. According to him, there are about 180,000 people left who have not received the vaccine injection.

Therefore, the sticking of the sticker can later be a sign for residents who have not received the vaccine so that officers can visit them.

“It’s getting less and less coming to the outlets, now we are innovating to pick up the ball door to door. Who knows that there is no vaccine in that environment? Mr. RT,” explained Yusri.

The aggressive method, said Yusri, will be carried out before August 17 to vaccinate residents who cannot come to the outlets.

“To know door to door where is the house that has not been vaccinated, Mr. RT knows, Mr. RT will put a sticker on it,” he said.

In Jakarta, a number of public facilities have required the use of a certificate or proof of Covid-19 vaccination to be able to use the service.

For example, to be able to enter the mall or when you want to use TransJakarta services. The vaccine letter is claimed to be a follow-up to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 30 of 2021 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) Levels 4, 3, and 2 in Java and Bali.

This policy is also supported by the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 974 of 2021 concerning PPKM Level 4 Covid-19.

“As a form of support for the government, Transjakarta is again making service adjustments where people who want to use TransJakarta services are required to show a Covid-19 vaccine letter, both printed and through the PeduliLindung application on their cellphones,” said PT Transjakarta Operations Director Prasetia Budi, Thursday (12/8).
