– The police received several reports that a man was behaving threateningly at an address in Modum on the night of Saturday.

He adds that this was the reason why the police armed themselves.
It was around 00:44 that the police went to Åmot in Modum municipality after a report of a threatening situation.

When the patrol arrived, the crew was attacked with a dangerous object, the South-Eastern Police District said on Twitter.
The police fired shots, and one person was taken to hospital for follow-up.
Tvenge does not currently want to say anything about what the man threatened the police with, but he describes it as a dangerous object.
It has not been decided whether the man will be produced for possible detention.
– It will be up to the police prosecutor to decide during the weekend, says Tvenge.
The man has been charged with threats against the police and is in hospital for treatment.
Was shot in the leg
The Special Unit for Police Affairs is investigating the case, this is confirmed by head of prosecution investigations Kari-Anne Hille Valla.
At 2 p.m., the Bureau reports that they were notified last night that a person has been shot in the leg by the police during an act of service at Åmot in Modum.
The victim has not suffered life-threatening injuries.
– It has been decided to launch an investigation, reports the Bureau, which has a duty to investigate cases where a person is seriously injured as a result of the police’s performance of duty, regardless of whether there is suspicion that a criminal offense has been committed.
Initiates interrogation as soon as possible
The Bureau reports that the purpose of the investigation is to elucidate the course of events, and the more detailed circumstances surrounding the situation where shots were fired.
– We are in the initial phase of the investigation, and the information we can provide about the case is therefore limited, the press release states.
Furthermore, it is stated that the weapons involved have been secured and that the Bureau will question the officers involved, victims and witnesses as soon as practicable.
“Due to the further investigation, no more detailed information about the case is given at the present time,” the press release concludes.
