A police officer in Kansas is in critical condition and the person who shot the officers died after a shooting in Wichita. This was reported by the authorities.
The event occurred in south Wichita around 10:15 pm.
It occurred when two policemen went to a home to find out the status of two women.
Police officers were shot by a person inside the home, one of whom was shot multiple times.
The officer was then taken to the hospital in critical condition, said Wendell Nicholson, a Wichita police captain.
When reinforcements arrived, the individual fired again.
The uniformed officers returned fire and the attacker was killed, Nicholson said.
Authorities questioned several witnesses to the event that occurred on Saturday night.
