Head of the Public Relations Division Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo said no Arema FC or Aremania fans were arrested in connection with the tragedy at the stadium Kanjuruhan, Malang, East Java. This was communicated by Dedi in response to the news that there were supporters of the Arema who had been arrested by the police.
“We didn’t catch anything, it was Aremania that was arrested. I’ll tell you this afternoon,” Dedi said at a press conference on Tuesday (4/10).
The tragedy at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, occurred after the match between Arema FC and Persebaya with a final score of 2-3, on Saturday night (1/10).

Police said the death toll in the tragic accident reached 125 people. Meanwhile, the latest version of data from the Postmortem Crisis Center Post stated that there were 133 deaths.
However, according to Aremania, the death toll was over 200.
So far, the National Police Headquarters, through Itsus and Propam, are investigating 28 members suspected of being responsible for the tear gas shooting at the Kanjuruhan Stadium.
In addition, the police investigation team also examined several witnesses and related officials authorized to organize the Liga 1 match between Arema FC and Persebaya.
