Cannabis plants seized

On Tuesday evening, police seized several cannabis plants and dried cannabis flowers in an apartment on Pfeifferhannsstrasse.
Following a witness tip-off, officers searched the apartment of a 30-year-old. He resisted opening the apartment and threatened the officers. He was eventually overpowered and taken to hospital. The police found 31 cannabis plants and over 130 grams of dried cannabis flowers in the apartment. The 30-year-old German is now being investigated for violating the Cannabis Consumption Act and resisting law enforcement officers. (lr)
Pedestrian hit

On Wednesday, a pedestrian was hit and injured by a Volvo XC40 (driver 78) on St. Petersburger Street.
The 78-year-old was driving towards the main train station. At the “Walpurgisstraße” stop, the pedestrian crossed the street from the central island. He was hit by the car and had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries. The traffic accident service has begun investigations. (lr)

Yesterday evening there was a fire in a building on Krenkelstrasse. No one was injured.

Last night, a car driver (23) was slightly injured in a traffic accident on the B 169.
The man was driving a Kia Rio between Gröditz and Tiefenau. At the end of a left-hand bend, he came off the road and hit a tree. The vehicle then overturned. The material damage amounts to around 21,000 euros.
The 23-year-old suffered minor injuries and had to be treated as an outpatient. A breathalyzer test on the German showed a value of more than 0.6 per mille. He is now being investigated for endangering road traffic. (ml)
Right-wing slogans chanted – State security investigates

The man had chanted banned right-wing slogans in a park on Feuerwehrstrasse. Alerted police officers tracked down the man and filed a report. (ml)
Bus windows damaged

Late Tuesday evening, unknown persons damaged two windows of a bus on Kötzschenbrodaer Straße.
The perpetrators boarded a bus at the “Kötzschenbrodaer Straße” stop. Since they did not have tickets, they had to leave the bus. The perpetrators then threw stones at two of the bus’s windows and fled. The material damage amounts to around 3,500 euros.

On Wednesday night, unknown persons smeared the wall of a company building on Niederauer Strasse. The perpetrators left behind graffiti measuring around 8 metres by 2.5 metres and caused damage amounting to around 4,500 euros. (lr)
Travelling without lights and insurance

Late Tuesday evening, police officers stopped an e-scooter driver (29) on Elsterwerdaer Straße who was driving without insurance.
The officers noticed the e-scooter because it was driving on the sidewalk and had no lights. They checked the vehicle and found that there was no insurance for the e-scooter. The officers prohibited the 29-year-old Pole from continuing his journey and are now investigating for violating the compulsory insurance law. (lr)

Police investigate suspicious approach to a child

The police are currently investigating the suspicious approach of a child in Glashütte.
According to current information, an unknown man approached a nine-year-old girl from a gray car on the school street. He also offered the child sweets and wanted to drive her to school. Shortly afterwards, the man got out and grabbed the girl by the arm. When the nine-year-old called out loudly for help, the unknown man let go. The child ran away.
The unknown man was about 55 to 60 years old, about 1.75 meters tall and of a strong build. He had a black beard, spoke broken German and was described as being from the South.
In addition to the investigation, the police will increase their patrol activities in the Glashütte area and contact the school of the affected child.
The police are asking: Who knows the person described? Who has noticed anything in connection with the incident? The Dresden Police Department is accepting information on (0351) 483 22 33. (ml)
Four injured in rear-end collision

Four people were slightly injured in an accident on Güterbahnhofstrasse on Wednesday morning.
A Ford Mondeo (driver 39), a VW Passat (driver 39) and a BMW 3 Series (driver 33) were on their way to Dresden. The 39-year-old wanted to turn left on Lugturmstrasse and stopped. The VW driver stopped behind her. The 33-year-old drove the BMW into the VW and pushed it onto the Ford. The drivers and a three-year-old in the Ford were slightly injured. The damage to property amounted to around 20,000 euros. Güterbahnhofstrasse had to be closed completely for a short time. (lr)
Poster damaged – suspect arrested

On Tuesday, police officers arrested a man (18) on Rudolf-Breitscheid-Straße who had previously destroyed an election poster.

E-scooter stolen

Bicycle stolen from shed

Unknown persons stole an e-bike from a shed on Marktstrasse during the night of Tuesday.
The perpetrators gained access to the property by unknown means and broke open the door of the shed. They stole the mountain bike, which was secured with a folding lock and was worth around 4,000 euros. The damage to the door and a padlock amounts to around 50 euros. (lr)

On the Sebnitzer Straße, a VW Crafter (driver 32) collided with a construction waste container on Wednesday night.
The 32-year-old was travelling towards Königstein. For unknown reasons, he veered off the road to the left and hit a container and scaffolding. No one was injured. The damage amounted to around 10,000 euros. (lr)
