Wrong cop and wrong lawyer with a shock call

Strangers tried to cheat a Dresden woman (89) on Wednesday afternoon.
The perpetrators pretended to be a police officer or a lawyer on the phone and claimed that the elderly woman’s daughter-in-law had caused a fatal traffic accident. To avoid imprisonment, the 89-year-old was asked to pay 80,000 euros bail for the daughter-in-law. In the course of the phone call, the person called recognized the fraudulent intent, so that there was no financial loss. (sg)
Mercedes collides with a tree – two injured

On Thursday evening, a Mercedes E-Class came off Striesener Strasse and hit a tree. Two men (20, 23) were injured.
The 20-year-old driver was heading towards St.-Petersburger-Straße. For as yet unknown cause he lost control of the car, ran over the footpath and hit a tree. The driver and his 23-year-old co-driver had to be taken to a hospital. There was property damage in the amount of around 5,000 euros. (lr)

Unknown people broke into an office on Industriestrasse on Thursday night.
The perpetrators pried open a window and searched the rooms. They broke into closets and stole office supplies and clothing. They also stole a safe with vehicle documents, fuel cards, cell phones and keys. The theft damage, like the property damage, was estimated at around 1,000 euros. (lr)
Theft from the garden

Location: Riesa
In the past few days, strangers stole two fairy lights from a garden on Nossener Strasse. The perpetrators got into the division in an unknown way and stole the two chains worth around 25 euros from one of the gardens. There was no property damage. (lr)

Toyota driver bumped into traffic sign and Suzuki

A 70-year-old hit a traffic sign and a parked Suzuki with a Toyota on Thursday afternoon.
The man was driving the car on Kurt-Fehrmann-Strasse. At an intersection he left the lane and drove first into the sign and then into the Suzuki.
The 70-year-old was slightly injured in the accident. The damage to property is around 3,500 euros. Whether health problems led to the accident is the subject of the investigation into the cause of the accident. (rr)
Burglary in the workshop

On Thursday night, strangers broke into a workshop on Untere Dorfstrasse.

Dacia and Skoda collided – 10,000 euros damage

In an accident between a Dacia and a Skoda, property damage of around 10,000 euros occurred on Thursday afternoon. Nobody got hurt.
The driver (20) of the Dacia was on the connection road from Sebnitz in the direction of Neustadt / Saxony. In a right turn the car skidded and collided with an oncoming Skoda (driver 80). The police are investigating the cause of the accident. (rr)
