A commotion ensued between the drivers ojek online (ojol) and debt collector in Bandung, West Java (West Java). The commotion was sparked when the debt collector took the ojol driver’s motorbike by force.
The commotion occurred on Jalan Hegarmanah, Tuesday (7/3) evening. The commotion was sparked when a group of debt collectors withdrew a motorbike belonging to an ojol driver. It was then that the dispute occurred.
“The incident occurred in the aftermath of taking the vehicle. Those who do it like that (debt collectors) should give advice and report to vehicle owners so that there are no such incidents,” said Plt Wakapolrestabes Bandung AKBP Asep Pujiyono as quoted by Antara. detikjabarTuesday (7/3/2023).
Police have taken action over the commotion. A number of people suspected of being debt collectors were secured. At least 5 people have been arrested by the police.
“It’s still in the investigation process later from Criminal Investigation who will explain. Until now we know there are 3-5 people already in Criminal Investigation,” he said.
Meanwhile, information was obtained that there were 4 debt collectors who had taken ojol motorbike drivers before the commotion occurred. Not only forcibly taking the motorbike, the debt collector is also said to have thrown a punch at the driver after trying to defend his vehicle.
